Reviewing The Samsung Gear Fit 2
My personal review video:
Social media, blogs, and even news sites have been flooded with information and reviews on the new Samsung Gear Fit 2. It has quickly replaced its predecessor and is competing with a few other high-end fitness bands currently on the market. Can it carve out a niche for itself or will it fall short of bands designed for more hardcore workouts?
Designed For Novices And Experts
If you have ever tried to use a high-end fitness tracker before you may have been overwhelmed by all of the options and statistics. I know that I was. That is one of the first things that caught my eye about the original Samsung Gear Fit and this one as well. It packs a lot of information in there, but it is easy to read, understand, and navigate.
If you just want to use the Gear Fit 2 for some light workouts here and there, then you probably won’t dive down into all of the advanced features. For example, you may never use the caffeine tracking system. However, if you are hardcore workout enthusiast who wants to know just how much water and caffeine you’ve consumed throughout the day, then you’ll love all of those extra features. It has a little something for everyone.
Features For Everyone
Many of the features are likely to be used by everyone. After all, they are the reason you purchase a fitness band in the first place. There are heart rate trackers, distance trackers, and smartphone notifications. It features automatic detection of exercise and alerts you after long periods of inactivity. It is almost like having your personal fitness coach with you all of the time.
There are also some unique features that might not be considered necessary, but certainly, make the band more enjoyable to use. For instance, you can choose from a variety of unique watch faces for the main display. There is also onboard storage for music and a Spotify app for downloading.
Appearance is also something you have to take into consideration before you purchase a band like this. People will see you wearing it around so . Obviously you want it to look good, which the Samsung Fit 2 does. It has a curved screen and a bright AMOLED display that can host several unique watch faces.
Overall the design is very slick and sophisticated. At the same time, the band is very comfortable to wear. You don’t have to sacrifice one for the other.
Is It Right For You?
There are at least half a dozen other fitness bands competing on the market. Each has their pros and cons. The Samsung Fit 2 is cheaper than all of the bands that could be considered competition, but that does come with a slight sacrifice. The Fit 2 is only compatible with Android. If you are, an iPhone user the two just won’t work together.
If you are an Android user, you enjoy working out, and you don’t want to break the bank for a fitness band, then the Samsung Gear Fit 2 is perfect for you.
